Vow Renewal Ceremony

Vow Renewal on Sanibel Island

Ronald and Sissy arrived from Austria for their vow renewal ceremony on Sanibel Island. This wasn’t the first time they visited Sanibel, twenty years ago I officiated at their wedding ceremony. Then ten years ago they came back for a vow renewal ceremony. In May of 2018 they returned with their three children for their second vow renewal ceremony. It was such a joy to see their three children grow since I first met them!

Sanibel Island Weddings

For over thirty five years I have performed wedding and vow renewal ceremonies on this beautiful island where I have resided for nearly fifty years. When I first arrived to the island I was an Innkeeper and I have seen the island grow from a small winter vacation community to a popular and worldwide known beach resort. Weddings on this lovely island mostly occur on the beaches including sunrise ceremonies at the Sanibel Lighthouse and sunset weddings on the west side of the island and further north to Captiva Island.

Vow Renewal Ceremony with Children

Ronald and Sissy’s children were so happy to be a witness to their parent’s love and re-commitment to each other. With the whole family present, they hired the same photographer who twenty years ago photographed their wedding. Sanibel Photographer, Frank Simonetti was available and happy to be present to photograph the special event. Actually, we included time to create a family photo session before the beach ceremony. It was a beautiful day in May which means the summer rains were about to fall around ceremony time. After the family beach photos, we had a few raindrops fall on us as we took some colorful pictures at sunset. Shown here are some of our favorite images we captured with the warm sunset light that reflected off the clouds and Gulf of Mexico.
