“Sanibel Strong” Elopements and Weddings

Sanibel Island is in recovery from three hurricanes that occurred in the past 2 years. With “Sanibel Strong”, tourists are helping the local economy of Sanibel. Choose Sanibel for your wedding or elopement! Randy and Jennifer did! They arrived from north Florida for a November 8th elopement on Sanibel beach.  The ceremony was at 5pm so that we could have the blue sky for the beginning of the ceremony. Then after the ceremony, the couple would enjoy the golden sunset colors that happened at 5:45pm.

Patricia Slater and Weddings by the Sea

I have performed thousands of weddings by the sea on Sanibel Island. A resident of Sanibel Island for over 50 years, I know the best locations for beautiful landscapes and deserted beaches for private weddings and elopements. As a former Sanibel Island Innkeeper, I am now energetically promoting “Sanibel Strong” after the remarkable three hurricanes in the past two years. Our Sanibel Island wedding venue participants include transportation, hotels, restaurants and hair salons. We all energetically look forward to a renewed and vibrant season for your elopement or wedding on our Sanibel Island-“Sanibel Strong”!

For Jennifer and Randy’s elopement, first, we all met at Patricia’s property for green background pictures. The big surprise was Jennifer’s children arriving for the ceremony! So, in addition to first look photos, they had the opportunity for family photos to include the children, created by Frank Simonetti Photography.

“Sanibel Strong” Beaches for Weddings

We were now ready to drive to the beach for a ceremony. You can see from the photographs the beautiful views of Sanibel beaches for weddings. As we arrived at our beach, the tide was coming in, so we were careful to be close to the water and yet, not get hit by incoming waves. Mostly, we were successful, however a few times we missed. The photographer was supposed to tell everyone when a big wave was approaching, and he did-AFTER he took the picture!

Randy and Jennifer and the children are not from the Florida coastline, so seeing the seashells was exciting for them. They enjoyed walking along the seashore and enjoyed the blue sky and birds on the coastline. I performed the ceremony that Randy and Jennifer requested, including ring exchange and a sand ceremony where all the children scooped up a handful of sand and place into the keepsake container. Visit this page for more photography of Sanibel Island. After the sunset photos, Randy and Jennifer enjoyed a celebration dinner at a local restaurant on Sanibel Island.
